Since 2007, Pet Sitting at Weston has teamed up with several local sponsors to organize an event that will benefit the Broward County Animal Care and Regulation Division (ACaRD) shelter in Ft. Lauderdale. Pet Sitting at Weston has also teamed up with PET SUPERMARKET (1380 Weston Road) who will make the event even more helpful to the community with a donation basket located in-store.
The 16th Annual Food Drive is one-way members of the Broward County community can get in the spirit of giving – a perfect opportunity to share your abundances during the upcoming Thanksgiving and holiday season.
Last year, people’s generosity not only made the event such a success, but more importantly their contributions helped make pets’ lives a little easier. During the first year of the charitable event, Pet Sitting at Weston collected and donated 225 cans of cat food, 35 bags of dog food, 11 toys, six collars, and two dog beds, three boxes of treats, six blankets and 18 leashes.
This year, Pet Sitting at Weston has set a target goal to collect 20 percent more items and is counting on your support to reach that goal to make the 16th Annual Food Drive even more successful. The items most needed to be donated to the ACaRD shelter are the following:
- Canned dog food
- Dry dog food
- Canned cat food
- Dry cat food
- Cat Litter
- Collars
- Leashes
Starting November 15 through December 15 – 2023, you can show your generosity and spirit of giving to the dogs and cats that are sheltered at the Broward County Animal Care & Regulation Division either by dropping off your donation item(s) at any one of the sponsor locations, or call Pet Sitting at Weston to request a doorstep pickup of your donation. (NO CASH DONATIONS please, and no towels, blankets or toys are needed.)
During these tough economic times, it is ever more important to rely on people to help others in the community- including pets. We invite you to join us in our effort to help make our four-legged domestic friends happier, healthier and more comfortable. Your support is appreciated. We look forward to receiving your requests to pick up pet food and supplies at your doorstep, and to collecting many goody-filled baskets at our sponsor locations.
